What To Do if You Coming Down with a Cold
You know that awful feeling, when you are full of mucous, you’re sneezing, have a stuffy nose and have no appetite? Your cold may not be quite there yet, but it’s definitely heading in that direction. This is the time to act.
You may have heard the saying, “If you treat a cold, you’ll recover in a week, if you don’t – you will get well in 7 days”. There is nothing farther from the truth.
Most people, when they start getting a cold, do not do much, except pick up some sugar losenges at the store. We almost accept the fact that everyone gets a cold once and a while and that we may, too. However, you can be cold and flu-free for years in a row and stop virtually any cold that starts. There is plenty you can do to stay healthy and sound.
It may sound like a strange question, but have you ever thought why do people get a cold? Seriously, what is the purpose of this dis-ease? Most people will say, “Don’t you know that a cold is caused by germs? Have you never caught it yourself?”
Question: Why not all people get colds? And why some people get severe symptoms and stay sick for a long time, while others bounce back within a day or two? The bugs are always around us. There are millions, billions, trillions of them floating in the air at any given moment. Why don’t be always get sick?
The answer: When your body is healthy and strong, or at least stronger than the bugs, they don’t stand a chance. When your body gets weaker – they just take over.
What Weakens Our Body Making It Prone to Colds, Flu and Strep Infection?
- When our body is malnourished and does not have enough minerals and other essential nutrients. Those are essential for the proper function of the immune system.
- When we run over our physical and energetical limits, for example stay late at night multiple nights in a row, go though a stressful situation after a stressful situation, without getting a chance to recuperate. At times we simply repeatedly do not take time to stop to get a proper hydration or to take a break in the middle of the day.
- When our cells are full of toxins, due to lack of exercise, overeating, late night eating and high amounts of mucous forming foods, such as cheese and bread.
How to Prevent Colds and Flus before They Start?
In short, eat well, rest well and keep your body cells clean. Here how you can do it.
Eat Nutritious Foods that Assist with Detoxification:
- Cut down on meats (except fish), dairy, cheese, sugar and any junk foods. If you can, avoid those throughout the whole pandemic or flu season. Some of these foods lower immunity, such as sugar. Some impact body’s ability to remove toxins, such as cheese (it is sticky). And meats and dairy enhance mucous production, which increases chances of getting respiratory issues.
- Food for thought for cheese lovers: France, Italy and Quebec are the places with most COVD-19 cases. All 3 love cheeses.
- Eat salads from hard raw veggies and raw brassicas (cabbage, cauliflower) 3 times per week. They will ensure your gut is clean.
- Avoid Pre-made Baked Goods or other Packaged Foods. Home-made baking will allow you to avoid the pastries made elsewhere that may be potentially contaminated.
- Have Every Family Member Exercise Daily, to ensure that his/her lymph system and circulation function well. It will help you digest and utilize food effectively.
-
- The lymphatic system is the dirtiest system in the modern society. A ten minute run, skipping rope or jumping on a trampoline first thing in the morning is the most powerful way to flush it.
- Do a thorough cleanse on raw foods, semi-fasting or liquid fasting for at least 7 days per year, to offload any toxic load that may have accumulated.
- Keep in mind that excessive crying may initiate a cold. When you cry, you start activating a sinus pump, which will move the phlegm into your nose, which will eventually lead to a stuffy nose. I do not mean that you should never cry, but if you really know you cannot afford getting sick at this time, you can prevent it by washing off your face and getting over being offended and upset quicker.

What if You Still, Despite of Your Best Efforts, Starting Catching Something?
How to Prevent a Cold or a Flu, when they just about to start?
A cold is the body’s natural response to excessive toxicity. Trying to stop it without addressing the underlying cause is like trying to stop diarrhea when a person got a food poisoning.
Detoxification of the body combined with minimum or no food, extra hydration and hot/cold showers are the key when a cold is creeping in.Viruses and harmful bacteria cannot live in clean cells. The faster you act, the more chances you’ll be able to nip the cold in the bud. Once the cold is fully blown, you can still use this method to help it slow down, but may not be able to stop it instantly.
What to Do if You Start Coming Down with a Cold:
- Remove all processed foods and junk foods for that period of time. Absolutely zero sugar, no dairy, no cheese and no meat until you fully recover!!!
- If your health allows, you can fast on liquids or green smoothies during that day/ days. Doing a water fast for 2-3 days is the quickest and best way to stop the cold. Tip: ensure that if you fast, you have bowel movements daily, either naturally, or using enemas. If you do not have BMs, the toxins will be reabsorbing back into the tissues.
Tip: If you can not fast on liquids due to a health condition, for example, diabetes, include plenty of fresh fibre-rich foods, such as greens, fresh salads, with some vegetable soups, legumes, whole graines and steamed veggies. Still avoid all processed and animal foods. Most importantly, eat as much raw as possible and decrease the overall amount of you eat to a minimum.
Flush Your Gut: Take 2 Lit jar. Pu in it 1 heaping Tbs. of Celtic or Himalayan salt. Add 1 lit of room temperature water. Mix well. Add boiling water to the top and mix well. Drink this on empty stomach during 20-30 min (if you did not finish the jar, stop at that point). Keep the lid closed, to keep warm, while you not drinking. Stay close to the washroom. You’ll eliminate the salt solution rectally!
Caution: Do not take this drink in case of severe constipation and advanced arrhythmia, or other advanced heart condition, as well as if your kidneys are not functioning well.
- Drink 3 litres of hot herbal tea, lemon water (water with freshly squeezed lemon juice) or pure water per day. The flush does not count, as it does not stay in your system.
- Take contrast showers (alternate hot and cold shower 3 times in a row) several times a day. Caution! Contraindicated for people with advanced heart conditions.
- Take a hot bath with Celtic or Epsom Salt fro 20 min. Follow with warm herbal tea, such as chamomile, linden or raspberry (the last two are very beneficial in the case of fever), put on warm socks and go to bed – sweat it out. Caution! Hot bath is beneficial with low-grade fever, but best avoided with high fever (38 C or more).
- Regularly air out your room (every 2 hrs. or so) and sleep with the window cracked. Oxygen kills viruses and makes the room safe for other people to walk in.
Keep in mind: immune system boosters, such as vitamin C, may not work effectively if the body is full of toxins. They are helpers, but you need to take care of the basics first (keeping cells clean).
