Post-Travel Prevention Plan
Any exposure to the outside world, especially if you need to travel by airplane, poses a potential risk, due to elevated levels of pollution and contact with crowds in closed, unventilated spaces. So, what precautionary measures can you take? Here are a few products I suggest to keep you and your family safe.
1. The first thing I would recommend is Activated Charcoal.
How-to: take 1 tsp in a cup of water in the morning upon rising, and once more in the evening-before going to bed.
Purpose: to pull out toxins from the sprays they use in airports/airplanes -they can be quite toxic!
What is Activated Charcoal? It is a black powder, usually made from wood or the ashes from coconut shell. It has a unique capacity to absorb large amounts of toxins. Charcoal is not only helpful to remove toxins after travel, but may be used for food poisoning or major indigestion. This audio describes how it works. Never use charcoal with food (unless you are sick and need to remove toxins), or on a regular basis, as it will bind to nutrients, medications and supplements. Wait for at least 1 hour after taking charcoal before you eat anything. During that hour, drink a cup of water every 15 minutes to prolong its active properties (it works only as long as there is water in the intestinal track, then it stops).
Where to Get Charcoal? Nutrabotanica – you can get it online, it is shipped from Ontario.
- Another great way to remove toxins is using Celtic Sea Salt
How-to: add at least 3 tbsp. of Celtic Sea Salt into a warm bath. Allow time to soak in the bath for minimum 15 – 20 minutes. Towel off and add moisturizer to your skin. Aim to take a salt bath daily for the next 2-3 days.
Purpose: Taking a salt bath will assist your body in effective toxins elimination via the largest organ in your body – skin.
What is Celtic Sea Salt: Celtic salt is collected from seashores around Brittany and dried in the sun and wind. It is grey and moist, reflecting the mineral content and capacity to hold water.
- The next tip is to add Liquid oxygen to your water for the first few days after travel or if you feel more vulnerable to a viral exposure.
Purpose: stabilized oxygen that dissolves in the water gets absorbed into your bloodstream quickly via your stomach. Not only will this help increase your overall energy levels, and quickly rehydrate you, but also will help red blood cells move more freely. When the cells are freely flowing and the body fluids move fast, the toxins get cleared fast and the viruses don’t have a chance to attach themselves to cells. Just think about someone trying to jump on a well-pumped ball in the water. Additionally, in oxygen-rich environment your white blood cells will able to do their job of chasing and engulfing pathogens better, too.
How to: Liquid oxygen can be added to water and drank daily.
What is Liquid Oxygen: Liquid oxygen drops are a concentrated formulation of oxygen. It is suspended in a sodium chloride solution that has very little taste but naturally preserves the oxygen’s concentration. When you add the drops to water, the sodium dissolves and frees the oxygen molecules.
The above products may help you to build your immunity and rid yourself of toxins. You can also:
- Nap during the daytime in the sun, if it is out. It will majorly charge you up.
- Decrease/ eliminate meat and increase greens, sour and fermented foods, such as raw unpasteurized sauerkraut (Karheine’s, for example) and pickles (Bubbies brand is great). You can also drink the pickled juice, remaining after you eat the fermented veggies. These will enhance your good bacteria and will strengthen both your digestive and immune systems. Make re-mineralizing vegetable broths as often as you can. It will greatly nourish and hydrate your body cells.
Here is a basic Re-Mineralizing Soup recipe (takes 20-30 min to prepare):
- Bring a half filled pot of water to a boil
- Put some chopped potatoes, carrots and cabbage
- Add salt and boil for 7-10 min or until soft. Do not overcook, can even slightly undercook.
- Turn the stove off. Add herbs, lemon juice and seasonings of your choice (I like fresh dill and parsley)
The liquid is the most valuable portion in this soup. You can eat some veggies, too, but this is optional. Consume the soup within a day. The fresher the soup, the more nutrients it will have. If your soup does not taste good, it means it has lost quite a bit of nutrients.
Tip: You can add more variety of veggies, if you wish. But the main tip with these broths is not to blend the veggies with liquid and to prepare it within a very short period of time, to keep maximum nutrients.
