Exercise can play an important role in lowering blood pressure, reducing cholesterol and triglycerides, increasing bone density, improving digestion and circulation and changing body composition. Regular exercise can reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and certain types of cancer. Exercise improves mood and plays an important role in preventing and treating depression and anxiety.

Most of us know we should exercise, yet we do not. There always seems to be something better to do or not enough time to fit regular physical activity into our daily lives. At Fresh Start, you’ll be able to change that and partake in various types of physical activity.

Exercise Program for Beginners and the Advanced

The Group Fitness Classes include a Gentle Movement Series focusing on breathing work, range of motion, functional training and strength training with weights and bands.

No fitness experience is necessary! Our exercise and yoga program is light and enjoyable – perfect for those who do not enjoy or may feel intimidated by intense boot camp-style workouts. Fresh Start yoga and fitness instructors have a very gentle approach and will gladly help people with limited mobility or pain to find postures and exercises that work best for them. Those who would like a more intense workout will be equally assisted in receiving the maximum benefit from their class. The adjustments will be made to the maximum extent possible in a group setting.

Private Exercise Options

What if I need more? Most of our guests feel that the intensity of the exercise offered is just right for them, and among the multiple options, almost everyone can find something to enjoy. However, those who want more intensive advanced exercise, or on the opposite – need therapeutic, highly modified movement classes due to a progressive structural condition, as well as for those who aim to explore depth specific type of exercise or desire to receive an individual exercise prescription/ training, individual fitness coaching, and yoga classes are available (additional fees apply).

Yoga Classes

Start your day right. If you have never experienced or cared for yoga: it is worth every effort. Yoga activates your digestive system, improves lymph flow and energizes you for the entire day. The yoga style is chosen based on the level of the group participants and is dynamic and fun. Yoga has proven effective for many of our guests with back, shoulder and neck problems. Yoga classes are offered early in the morning and alternate with guided meditations. Once a week, there is a sleep-in day.

Zumba Classes

Zumba is a combined dance and fitness program originating from Columbia. It includes dance and aerobics movements and incorporates music from many cultures. Being one of the most active classes we offer, Zumba is the ultimate weight-loss activity. Zumba classes are subject to the availability of an instructor.
